There’s an old saying in the world of photography that goes something like, “The best camera in the world is the one you have with you.” A simple idea that illustrates an important point; you may own the best camera ever made, but if you don’t have it with you when you need it most, you can miss the shot of a lifetime.
It’s with that idea in mind that we developed Life Line.
At its core, Life Line is very simple; it’s a Meshtastic Node that lives on your keychain. Plug it in when you need it, and forget about it when you don’t. There is no battery to keep charged, no bulky external antenna to draw unwanted attention or get snagged on your sweater.
On the outside is a surprisingly strong 3D printed enclosure that keeps the internal technology safely secured to your keychain. On the inside is a radically small long-range communication chip, a Bluetooth antenna and a 915 MHz antenna which can support long-range communication, with ranges of hundreds to thousands of meters between hops.
